30 Websites That Show the Beauty of Simplicity
Colors play a powerful role in design. But when there are too many colors, it can be overwhelming. Sometimes, a minimalist approach can help us focus on the most important parts of a website.
In this collection of websites, I found designs that use three colors as their main focus. Some of them also have one or two additional highlight colors, but they still fit the criteria. These websites are so well-done and close enough to the three-color theme that I couldn’t resist including them in this collection.
Notice how the colors help you focus your attention on what’s important. Can you see how the brand is integrated into each of these designs? You can also see that using a combination of full-color graphics and a limited color palette can still be effective, without going too minimalistic. The examples below will demonstrate how websites with a maximum of three colors can still be impactful.

The background of this webpage reminds me of those fancy papers that people often use when printing their resumes and CVs. It has a texture that adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. Stefan Coisson
Hey there! I want to talk to you about this awesome website I found. It’s got a really cool design, and I want to tell you all about it. The layout is simple, but they use three colors in a super effective way. Let me break it down for you.
First off, the colors they chose are black, white, and green. The cool thing is, the green color really pops against the black and white background. It’s like a burst of freshness in a sea of monotony. You can’t help but notice it.
Now, let’s talk about the organization of the text. It could use a little improvement. It’s not the best, but hey, nobody’s perfect. Despite that, the green highlight manages to steal the show. It’s the star of the page, and it knows how to command attention.
All in all, this website has a simple layout, but don’t let that fool you. It’s the clever use of three colors that makes it stand out. And that green highlight? It’s a real showstopper. Trust me, you won’t be able to take your eyes off it!
Jon Tangerine
Hey there! Can I just say, this website is stunning? It goes a little beyond the usual three-color scheme, but you know what? It totally works. The combination of yellow highlights, text links with a touch of orange underlining, and the black, grey, and occasional white text is just amazing. Seriously, it’s beautiful!
I’m Martin Hipp, and let me tell you about this amazing website. It has a refreshing and professional look, with a unique blend of dark grey, black, and grass green colors. These colors work together to create a truly special design that sets this website apart.
A Website with a Minimalist Design

Hey, check out this cool website! I love the way they’ve used a strip of black on the side to give it a film-like vibe. The gray and red text keep things simple, which is crucial considering all the awesome images they’ve got going on here.
On the path to rediscovery
A calming palette of blues and greys gives this design a simple yet classic look. The clever use of three distinct colors effortlessly directs your focus to the most crucial information.

Hello there!
When you explore this site, you’ll notice that it predominantly features shades of dark and light greys in geometric shapes. However, it also showcases touches of blue and a hint of pink to draw attention. Essentially, it’s another compelling arrangement of black, grey, and accent colors.
The Pentagon
When I think of the Pentagon, I think of a place that is mostly grey with some white and blue thrown in. The color scheme is simple, but I can’t help but feel there is too much blue. It’s everywhere! And those flashing graphics don’t make it any better.
Graphic Design on the Radio
When you look at this website, it may seem like it only uses a few colors. The text is black and grey, and it’s presented in white boxes. The background is pink with a textured pattern. But hold on a second! If you close the page and then reopen it, you’ll notice something different. The background is now blue, no wait, it’s yellow! You might be thinking, “That’s it? Only three colors to work with?” It might be a little disappointing, isn’t it?
A Pixel of Inspiration
Picture this: I stumble upon a web page that immediately captures my attention. It’s elegant, sleek, and remarkably easy on the eyes. What could be the secret behind its visual appeal? I’ll let you in on a little secret – it’s all about color.
I’m no expert, but I’ve discovered a kicker of a combination that instantly transforms any website from drab to fab. Are you ready for this? Dark grey, light grey, and a dash of highlight color. Trust me, it’s as simple as it sounds but oh-so-effective.
Why does it work? Let’s break it down. Dark grey is like the mysterious knight that sets the stage, creating a foundation of sophistication and depth. It gives the page a touch of gravitas, a certain je ne sais quoi that draws you in.
Now, imagine you add a lighter shade of grey to the mix. Suddenly, like a ray of sunlight peeking through the clouds, the page comes alive. It introduces a sense of balance, enhancing readability, and creating a harmonious backdrop that puts the content in the spotlight.
But wait, we need that “wow” factor to truly stand out, right? That’s where our trusty highlight color comes in. Picture a vibrant pop of blue, red, or green (whatever floats your boat). It’s like the cherry on top, the final touch that adds that extra bit of pizzazz. With it, we guide the eyes of our dear visitors, effortlessly leading them towards crucial elements and calls-to-action.
So there you have it – the magic of color. With just a stroke of dark grey, a splash of light grey, and a burst of highlight color, you can transform your web design from ordinary to extraordinary. It’s a simple yet powerful recipe that never fails to captivate and leave a lasting impression. Trust me, your website will thank you, and your visitors will keep coming back for more.
Website that sparks inspiration
I’ve always found it fascinating when text changes its color when I hover my mouse over it. It adds an element of playfulness and interaction that can make a website feel more engaging. However, the site I came across takes this feature to a whole new level. They seem to have pushed the boundaries of color-changing text, but surprisingly, it works. Maybe it’s because of their minimalist design that uses only three colors, keeping everything clean and straightforward.
Stefan Persson
Wow, this website sure looks amazing! The combination of grey, black, orange, and white gives it such a sleek and organized look. It’s like each color has its own special role, making it super easy to navigate.
Faust
As I explore the Faust website, I can’t help but notice its vibrant color scheme. The orange hues catch my eye and add an energetic touch to the design. Yet, I can’t help but wonder if a simpler color palette would have made the site even more visually appealing. Perhaps less orange would have struck a better balance.
