1. Keep Your Computer Running Smoothly with CCleaner
Over time, our computers gather a lot of unnecessary data that can slow them down. Sure, Windows has a built-in tool called Disk Cleanup, but it doesn’t get rid of everything. That’s why I like using CCleaner.
CCleaner is like a special cleaner for your computer. It gets rid of temporary files, cookies, and other stuff that you don’t need. When you use CCleaner regularly, it helps keep your computer running smoothly.
Here’s how you can use CCleaner to find and remove all those unnecessary files:
- First, download and install CCleaner from the official website. This program helps clean up your computer and improve its performance.
- Next, open CCleaner and click on the Cleaner icon. This will bring up a list of items that can be cleaned.
- Select the items you want to clean, such as temporary files and internet history, and click the Run Cleaner button. CCleaner will then scan your computer and remove any unnecessary files.
2. Stop Using Fancy Graphics and Animations
Another thing that can make your computer slow is the use of fancy graphics and animations. These things take up a lot of processing power and can make your computer sluggish.
Here’s how to turn off these fancy graphics and animations:
- First, let’s begin by right-clicking on the Start button. From there, select System.
- Next, choose the last option on the left, which is Advanced system settings.
- Once you’re in the Advanced tab, locate and click on Settings under the Performance section.
- Now, you’ll see a list of options under Visual Effects. To optimize performance, select Adjust for best performance. Alternatively, you can go with Custom and uncheck all the boxes.
3. Get Rid of Unnecessary Software
One of the main reasons for a slow system is having software that you don’t really need or hardly ever use. These programs take up valuable disk and memory space and can interfere with the performance of other applications, slowing everything down.
When it comes to getting the most out of my computer, I’ve found that it’s important to remove any unnecessary programs. They can slow things down and take up valuable space. So, what can you do if there are programs on your computer that you don’t need or use anymore? Let me show you:
- First, open up your computer’s Control Panel. To do this, click on the Start button, then click on Control Panel.
- Next, click on “Uninstall a program” under the Programs section.
- A list of all the programs installed on your computer will appear. Scroll through the list and find the program you want to remove.
- Once you’ve found the program, click on it to select it. Then, click on the “Uninstall” button at the top of the window.
- A confirmation window will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to uninstall the program. Read carefully, as some programs may have additional prompts or offer to remove related files or components. Click “Yes” to confirm.
- The program will now be uninstalled from your computer. Depending on the size of the program, this may take a few moments.
- Finally, restart your computer to complete the uninstallation process. Some programs may require a restart to fully remove all files.
By following these steps, you can easily remove any unwanted or unused software from your computer. It’ll help keep your computer running smoothly and give you more space for the programs and files that you do use.
I’m going to show you how to uninstall a program on Windows 10. Follow these steps:
1. Right-click on the “Start” button and go to “Control Panel”.
2. Select “Programs” and then “Programs and Features”.
3. Choose the program you want to remove and click “Uninstall/Change”.

To use the Performance Monitor:
1. Type “Performance Monitor” into the search box in the Start menu.
2. Click on the first result to open the tool.
By following these steps, you can easily uninstall programs and use the Performance Monitor to optimize your Windows 10 experience.
- Go to the left panel and click on Reports, then System, and finally System Diagnostics.
When you do this, a detailed report on your system’s performance will be created.
Make sure to look for any problems with your PC in the Warnings section. You can use the Troubleshooter in Windows 10 or search online for solutions.
5. Activate Hibernate Mode
Hibernate mode is a handy feature that saves your current computer state on the hard drive when you shut it down. It’s like taking a nap and waking up refreshed, as your system boots up quickly, allowing you to pick up where you left off without any delay.
To enable Hibernate mode, I’ll guide you through these steps:
- First, press WinKey + I to open Settings, then select System.
- Next, navigate to Power & Sleep and then choose Additional power settings.
- Now, from the left panel, select Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.
- Finally, just check the box next to Hibernate and click the Save changes button.
Hey, did you know that you can put your computer into hibernation mode? It’s pretty cool because it saves all your work and settings, but consumes very little power. This way, you can quickly start where you left off without wasting time on booting up your system again. To hibernate your computer, simply go to the Start menu and choose the Hibernate option.
6. Stop the Search Indexing Madness
Did you know that Windows 10 has a sneaky feature called search indexing? It’s supposed to make searches faster, but it’s actually a resource hog. If you don’t use the search function much, it’s time to put an end to this madness.
So, how do you stop this indexing nightmare? Let me show you:
- To begin, let’s open up the Computer Management. To do this, simply right-click on the Start button and select the option that says Computer Management.
- Once the Computer Management window is open, find and double-click on Services and Applications, and then select Services.
- Now, it’s time to locate Windows Search in the list. Once you find it, double-click on it.
- When the Properties window for Windows Search opens up, you’ll see an option called Startup type. Change this option to either Manual or Disabled, and make sure to click the OK button to save the changes.
7. Let’s Reduce the Overhead on our Browser
Having too many browser extensions and add-ons can slow down your computer. It’s a good idea to get rid of any extensions and add-ons that you don’t need. Here’s how you can do it in Google Chrome:
