10 New Exciting Features Coming to Windows 10

By Ronald Smith

Hey there! Have you heard about the new and improved Windows 10? It’s all the talk right now. You see, Windows 8 didn’t quite hit the mark with its fancy interface and controversial decision to ditch the beloved “Start” menu. But fear not! Windows 10 is here to save the day and win back our hearts.

Windows 10 is designed to work seamlessly on all sorts of devices – phones, tablets, TVs, Xbox, and even Microsoft’s very own wearable device, Hololens. It’s packed with tons of cool new features, revamped interfaces, and a much-needed and refreshed web browser.

Guess what? I’ve been lucky enough to try out Windows 10 as part of their Windows Insider program, and let me tell you, it’s pretty awesome. I’ve compiled a list of 10 key features that I found most exciting, and I can’t wait to share them with you!

1. Say Hello to the New Start Menu!

Hey there! Guess what? The Start menu is back(!) and it’s had a major makeover that combines the classic desktop with the Modern interface. And the best part? It’s a design you’ll recognize from before. Instead of being hidden away, it proudly sits in the familiar left corner of your screen, just like it did in Windows 7. It’s got a list of all the apps you use most frequently, plus a handy menu where you can find all your installed apps, neatly sorted in alphabetical order.

But wait, there’s more! At the top, there’s an extra panel that’s similar to the one in Windows 8. You can use this panel to pin your favorite apps for quick and easy access. And if you need to fit more apps, no problem. Just grab the edge of the start menu and resize the panel to your heart’s content. You can even organize your apps into groups and customize the size and behavior of their icons. How cool is that?

If you’re familiar with how Windows 8 works, you can make your Start menu display in full screen. Just go to Start, then click on Settings, followed by Personalization, and finally Start. From there, turn on the option to Use Start full screen.

2. A Fresh Look

Hey there! Let me show you the new and improved File Explorer (formerly known as Windows Explorer) and app windows! They have undergone some serious upgrades. Now, certain apps will sport colors that reflect their brand identity, adding a personalized touch to your experience. And guess what? Some apps also give you the option to switch between dark and light modes for their windows. Pretty cool, huh?

Oh, and there’s more! For all you mobile app enthusiasts out there, we’ve added a handy little button. Just click it, and boom! Your app window expands to go full screen, just like it would on a mobile device. So, whether you’re feeling colorful, want to switch up the lighting, or go full screen, we’ve got you covered!

10 New Exciting Features Coming to Windows 10

I’m excited to tell you about some cool features in Windows 10 that make multitasking a breeze!

Have you ever wanted to work on two things at once on your computer? With Windows 10, you can do just that. It’s called Snap View, and it helps you arrange your apps on your screen so you can see them all at the same time.

Let me explain how it works. You can snap an app to half of your screen or even a quarter of your screen. Just drag the app to the corner of your screen, and voilà! It will fit perfectly into that space.

Now, here’s the exciting part. Once you have one app snapped, Windows 10 will show you small pictures of all your other open apps. These pictures are called thumbnails, and they make it easy for you to switch to a different app quickly. Just click on the thumbnail, and you’ll be in that app in no time!

This feature is similar to something you can do on a Mac computer, but only if you have the latest version called El Capitan. Wouldn’t it be great if Microsoft added an option to turn off the scrollbar, just like on a Mac? Maybe one day!

Now, let me tell you about another awesome feature in Windows 10 called Multiple Desktops.

Do you ever feel like you have too many windows open on your computer? It can get pretty crowded and hard to find what you’re looking for. Well, not anymore!

Windows 10 has a cool feature called Multiple Desktops, which is like having more than one computer screen. It’s perfect for people who love to stay organized or work on different projects at the same time. The best part? This feature has been enjoyed by Linux and Mac users for years, so it’s about time Windows caught up!

I’m really loving all the new features in Windows 10. They make multitasking so much easier and more fun! I hope you give them a try and see how they can make your life easier too.

So here’s the deal. If you want to make a fresh Desktop in Windows 10, it’s actually a piece of cake. Just click on the Task View icon (which looks like two rectangles on top of each other) in your taskbar. Alternatively, you can simply press the Windows key and the Tab key at the same time. Once the Task View appears, check out the bottom right corner and you’ll see a nifty little button called “New Desktop”. Just give it a click, and voila! You’ve got yourself a brand spanking new Desktop. Easy peasy, right?

Did you know that you can have as many desktops as you want to organize your apps? That’s right, you can group them or arrange them however you like. And the best part is, you can easily move apps between desktops just by dragging and dropping them.

But here’s the thing: when you go full screen with an app, it won’t create a new desktop like it does in OS X. Instead, it will stay within the same desktop. Pretty neat, huh?

Oh, and one more thing. The taskbar on each desktop will only show the active apps for that specific desktop. So you can easily see which apps are open and running on each one.

4. Hey Cortana!

Have you heard of Cortana? She’s Microsoft’s version of Siri and Google Now, and she’s pretty amazing. Cortana is like your own personal digital assistant, helping you with all sorts of tasks.

For example, she can help you manage your schedule, reminding you of important events so you never miss a thing. She can even give you suggestions based on your preferences, making your life a whole lot easier.

And get this – Cortana can even reply to emails for you! How cool is that?

But that’s not all. Cortana is also great at searching for files, folders, and apps. It’s just like the Spotlight feature in OS X, but even better.

10 New Exciting Features Coming to Windows 10

Guess what? Cortana is no longer just for mobile devices! Microsoft has taken things up a notch and brought Cortana to the desktop with Windows 10. Now you can wake up Cortana in two ways. Either use your voice and say “Hey Cortana!” or click on the handy Speaker button on the Taskbar.

As of now, Cortana can understand and speak several languages including English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Italian, and German. However, it’s important to note that it may not be available in all regions just yet.

5. Microsoft Edge

Remember Project Spartan? Well, it’s now called Microsoft Edge. The name is pretty cool, although not completely unique, just like its logo. But that’s not what matters. What really counts is that Microsoft Edge is way better than its predecessors in so many ways, and that’s what we’re interested in.

Hey there! So, have you seen the new and improved Edge browser? Let me tell you, it’s got a pretty fancy interface. It’s all sleek and stylish, making it a pleasure to use. And get this, you can even switch between two color modes, Light and Dark, depending on your preference. How cool is that?

But the best part? Edge is all about making your browsing experience interactive and convenient. They’ve integrated Bing and Cortana, so you can get things done right from the browser. No need to open a new tab or search engine!

Here’s a neat trick – when you start typing in the address bar, Edge will give you a list of suggestions based on keywords. It’s super handy and saves you time trying to remember the exact web address. And guess what? If you type something like “weather in Chicago,” it’ll show you the current forecast for the city. Talk about staying ahead of the game!

And that’s not all. Whether you’re into stocks or just curious about the latest market trends, Edge has got you covered. If you type in a stock symbol like AAPL, it’ll give you the current stock price for Apple. Now you can keep tabs on your investments without any hassle.

All in all, Edge is a browser that’s all about making your life easier. With its sleek design, interactive features, and helpful suggestions, surfing the web has never been more enjoyable. Give it a try and see for yourself!

10 New Exciting Features Coming to Windows 10

Hey there! Did you know that Microsoft Edge is not just any old browser? It’s got a powerful new engine under the hood called EdgeHTML. This engine is way faster and more reliable than the one used in Internet Explorer. No more slow loading or glitchy web pages!

But that’s not all! In the past, we were stuck with the limited selection of add-ons in Internet Explorer. Not anymore! Now we can finally install third-party extensions, just like in Chrome and Firefox. Talk about freedom!

Check out the new Action Center!

If you’re used to Windows 7, you might be familiar with the Action Center. But get ready for an upgrade! In Windows 10, the Action Center has been transformed to meet our modern needs. It’s like a never-ending stream of useful information for your computer, from updates to security notifications. Stay in the know!

10 New Exciting Features Coming to Windows 10

I’m excited to share with you some amazing features of Windows 10! Now, you can easily catch up on anything you may have missed, such as emails, news, calls, texts, and software updates. Plus, accessing your PC Settings is a breeze with convenient shortcuts. Just look out for the bubble talk icon located at the bottom right side of the Taskbar.

But that’s not all – Microsoft has big plans to unify their ecosystem with something called Universal Apps. What does that mean? Well, with Windows 10, Developers can now write a single codebase that can be used across various devices, like phones, tablets, and even Hololens. This exciting development not only makes it easier to build apps for Windows, but it also reduces both the cost and the time investment involved. Amazing, right?

You’ll be delighted to know that Windows 10 comes bundled with a range of Universal Apps, including Mail, Calendar, Calculator, Music, and Photo. Plus, you can also install phone and tablet apps from the Windows Store and use them just like desktop apps. This flexibility and compatibility truly takes Windows 10 to the next level!

With all these incredible features, Windows 10 is truly a game-changer. Give it a try and see for yourself how it revolutionizes your computing experience. Get ready to discover a whole new world of possibilities!

Continuum, not to be confused with Continuity, is a nifty feature that lets hybrid devices like Surface seamlessly switch between desktop and tablet modes. But guess what? You can also use tablet mode on a regular desktop if you’re all about that tablet experience!

To activate tablet mode, simply head to the Action Center and click on the Tablet Mode shortcut. Once you’re in tablet mode, all your apps will go full screen, including File Explorer. And here’s the cool part: Continuum works on Windows Phones too! Just connect your phone to a screen or PC, and voila! You’ll have the full PC experience, complete with keyboard and mouse support.

So there you have it. Continuum lets you effortlessly transition between desktop and tablet modes, giving you the best of both worlds. It’s like magic!

In the world of Windows 10, a special and one-of-a-kind feature awaits you – Windows Hello. It’s like a secret passageway that lets you into your computer, but it’s not like any other passcode you’ve seen before. Instead of having to remember a password, enter a PIN, or pick a picture, Windows Hello lets you log in using something truly unique – your own face and fingerprint!

Imagine this: you’re sitting in front of your PC, and with just a glance at the camera, your computer recognizes you and grants you access. No need to type any passwords or codes, or even click a button. It’s like magic!

10. An Improved Command Prompt

The Command Prompt for Windows has been around for a long time and hasn’t kept up with the modern features available in Linux or OS X’s Terminal. It feels outdated, like it’s stuck in the 80s. One of its limitations is the inability to select text and copy and paste it.

Thankfully, Microsoft has made some enhancements to the Command Prompt in Windows 10. Now you can easily select lines of text, drag and drop folders or files, and even find out their location path.
