WiseStamp: Elevating Your Email Marketing and Social Signatures
Have you ever heard of social email? It may sound a bit repetitive, because isn’t all email social in some way? But when we talk about social email, we actually mean making yourself more approachable by adding a clever, link-friendly signature to your emails.
I’ve always admired those marketing-savvy folks who have social signatures. You know the ones that have cool buttons linking to their Facebook page, Twitter account, or LinkedIn profile. I used to think it required some fancy coding skills, but then I discovered WiseStamp! They take care of all the technical stuff for you.
If you check your email and the regular signature you use, if you have one, you might wonder how you can make it more interesting. Because every time you connect with a customer or potential customer, it’s a chance to share what you’re doing and have more sales or conversations with your brand. It seems really difficult to create a new email signature every time you write a blog post or tweet about something, maybe even impossible. But with a tool like WiseStamp, you can show how smart you are in just a few minutes and do it in a friendly and professional way with the signature at the end of your email.
What I liked:
In less than five minutes, I was able to create my own cool signature with WiseStamp. If you’re interested, I made a YouTube video showing how I did it. I didn’t edit the video too much, so it’s pretty much as fast as I did it myself.
I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I could add Twitter, Facebook, and other Instant Message options. I only added a few for this test, but there are actually 14 or 15 different options available.
WiseStamp makes it super easy to share updates from all the major social sharing services in my signature. Whether it’s StumbleUpon, Delicious, Flickr, eBay, Digg, or any other platform, they have a way for me to include it. They even have a fun quotes app that lets me rotate different simple quotes to jazz up my signature effortlessly.
Take a look at this comparison between my basic email signature and my fancy WiseStamp one. Check out the green box—that’s my basic and maybe a bit boring signature that I use through Google. Now, in the red box, we have my super cool signature with social media icons powered by WiseStamp. Trust me, my screenshot doesn’t quite capture how awesome it really looks. Having those little icons just takes it to a whole new level compared to plain old HTML. WiseStamp has a whole bunch of different samples you can choose from, too!
I wanted to have a similar feature for Microsoft Outlook because not everyone uses webmail clients like Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, or AOL. I found out that there is an extension for Mozilla Thunderbird, though.
Although I downloaded the extension, I couldn’t figure out how to access it again! It was probably my own mistake as I kept expecting to see something in my browser window. Eventually, I realized that it only appeared in the upper right corner of my Gmail inbox. From there, I could go in and change the settings. Alternatively, I could access it through Firefox by going to Add-ons and Options, and then clicking on WiseStamp, where it appeared as one of my add-ons. They might have explained all this in a tutorial, but sometimes I get too impatient to wait for instructions.
If you’re blogging for your company and want an easy way to share your latest content in your emails, then you should definitely check out WiseStamp. It’s a great tool that lets you add status updates to Facebook, Twitter, and other social sites. And the best part? The basic app is free!
But if you want to customize your signature even more, you can upgrade to the premium levels. For just $24 to $36 a year, you’ll be able to create a custom social icon and make your icons larger. That’s pretty cool, right?
And here’s the thing, if you’re really active on social media, the premium plan might be worth it. It’s definitely something to consider.
Oh, and did I mention that WiseStamp has awesome reviews? Mashable, LifeHacker, Kim Komando, and other tech gurus love it!
