23 BBB Marketing and Other Services

If you’re a business owner, you probably know about the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and how important its ratings are. But did you know that there’s more to the BBB than just ratings? Being accredited with the BBB can play a big role in your marketing strategy.

Nowadays, before buying something, people are doing their research, says Paula Fleming, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at BBB New England. When your business is a member of the BBB, you get the benefits of BBB marketing and stand out from your competitors.

Fleming explains that the BBB has been gathering and sharing information for over a century. Unfortunately, for some of that time, the BBB was mostly known as a place for filing complaints. However, today the BBB is still up and running, and it’s focused on supporting businesses in the US, Canada, and Mexico. They provide updated business profiles and other useful perks.

I want to let you know about a really important organization called the BBB. It stands for Better Business Bureau, and they have a lot to offer business owners like you. They are really committed to helping our business community.

Now, let me tell you about some of the amazing things the BBB does to support businesses. They provide services that you might not have heard of before, but they can actually help your business grow. The BBB is always working to help businesses in the US, Canada, and Mexico, and they have a special certification that shows consumers they can trust your business.

One of the great things the BBB offers is an accreditation decal and certificate. This is a special symbol that you can display in your business to show customers that you have been recognized by the BBB for your commitment to ethics and customer satisfaction. It’s like a stamp of approval that can really make a difference for your business.

So, if you’re a business owner and you want to build trust with your customers, the BBB is here to help. They offer a range of services that can support your business growth and show your customers that you are a trustworthy and reliable business.

Remember, the BBB is dedicated to serving our business community, so don’t hesitate to reach out to them and take advantage of all the great services they have to offer.

The BBB logo is a well-known symbol of trustworthy business practices. Show off your honest and reliable business by proudly displaying the BBB decal and certificate. When you put the Better Business Bureau stickers on your door or window, it lets people know that you are committed to serving your customers. The BBB is always ready to support the business community and recognize excellence. So don’t forget to apply a Better Business Bureau sticker to your front door!

2. BBB Dynamic Seal

If you have an online business or website, having the BBB dynamic seal is crucial. It tells your customers that your site meets the high standards set by the BBB and that they can trust your business. This seal also helps you connect with other BBB members in your business community. It’s easy to identify each other when you both have the Better Business Bureau seal displayed.

3. Get Personalized Business Reviews

Now you can make your BBB Business Review really reflect your business! Customize it to show what your business is all about – your products, services, refund policies, hours of operation, and service area. Let’s make your business profile shine with a personal touch!

When people are looking for products or services, they often check out business profiles. That’s why having a great business profile is crucial for marketing. It’s a chance for customers and fellow business members to find out more about what you do.

4. QR Codes: Unlocking the Power of Technology

Did you know that QR codes are a super cool and useful tool for businesses? Let me tell you all about it! When a business sets up its Business Review, they can easily download their very own QR code. This special code can be placed on their door, in their advertisements, and on all of their marketing materials. And here’s the really neat part: when customers scan the code, they’ll be instantly taken to the business’s review page. Pretty cool, huh? And as a member of the BBB, you can even download QR codes for the businesses you connect with. Whether it’s for info, supplies, or services, you’ve got it all covered.

5. Start With Trust: Building Strong Relationships

Welcome to Start With Trust, the official publication of BBB. Whether you’re a business owner or an employee, I’ve got the latest news for you. Published regularly, both in print and through email, Start With Trust is here to keep you in the loop. Expect feature stories, updated lists of accredited businesses, and more, all presented in a lively and easy-to-read format. It’s our way of staying connected with the awesome business community we share.

6. The Scoop on Accredited Business Lists

We often receive calls asking for recommendations of honest companies. While we can’t endorse any specific company, what we can do is provide you with a list of accredited businesses in your industry. Think of it as a BBB marketing tool. This list can help customers find your business and discover the trusted services you provide.

7. Your Handy Accredited Business Guide

Every year, we publish the Accredited Business Guide, which contains a comprehensive list of all the accredited businesses in your BBB area. It’s a valuable resource that we provide for free to accredited businesses, public agencies, libraries, professional offices, and many other locations.

The Accredited Business Guide is like a one-stop shop for consumers. It’s filled with helpful information and is often kept as a reference tool. We print and distribute these guides generously throughout the year, making it a long-lasting marketing opportunity.

8. BBB Logo Advertising

As an accredited business, you have the privilege of displaying the BBB logo in your advertisements, such as display ads, business cards, and letterhead. This is an effective marketing tool that helps build trust in the marketplace.

9. Request-a-Quote

10. Assistance with Collections

Just to clarify, the BBB isn’t a collection agency. But don’t worry, I’m here to help you out with those tricky accounts. The Better Business Bureau sees collection assistance as a vital part of supporting the business community.

11. Hotline for Phone Calls

Psst, guess what? The BBB has a special phone line exclusively for Accredited Businesses like yourself. This means you’ll get priority service in a flash!

12. BBB Principles to Live By

When you work with the BBB, customers will see that you believe in the highest standards of business ethics. This means treating everyone equally, being honest and truthful in your advertising, acting with integrity, showing courtesy, and delivering great customer service.

13. Uncovering Investigations

I’ve got your back! The BBB is always on the lookout for unfair competition that harms legitimate businesses who pay their taxes. As a member, you can help by providing information to the BBB about any suspicious activities like this.

14. Get the inside scoop on businesses – Accredited Business Reports

Did you know that you can find out all about a company before doing business with them? Yep, it’s true! And you know who’s got all the juicy deets? The Better Business Bureau (BBB)! They’ve got these things called Accredited Business Reports, and let me tell you, people are all over ’em. In fact, folks like you check these reports more than 800,000 times every year! That’s a whole lot of fact-finding going on!

Now, get this – about 70% of customers actually prefer doing business with companies that are accredited by the BBB. Talk about trust! You see, those businesses have proven themselves to be honest and reliable, and that’s information you can count on.

15. Stay in the know with Fax Alerts and E Alerts

Okay, here’s another nifty perk for the companies that are in the BBB’s good books. They get these handy faxes filled with all sorts of important stuff like current scams and other things you need to be aware of. And let me tell you, these faxes come right when you need ’em most, when the info is super fresh. So you can bet your bottom dollar that the BBB is a source you can trust!

16. Save some dough with a Tax Deduction

Did you know that supporting your BBB is not only important for your business, but it’s also recognized by the U.S. government as a reasonable and necessary expense? That’s right, you can actually deduct your Accredited Business dues as a tax deduction. It’s a win-win situation because it helps us keep running and focused on serving our business community in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

17. Get Informed with Consumer and Business Pamphlets

Guess what? We’ve got nearly 100 brochures that provide valuable information for all consumers. These handy pamphlets cover a wide range of topics and can be distributed as counter-top handouts or sent through direct mail. So, whether you’re looking for buying tips or business advice, we’ve got you covered!

18. Let Us Help You Resolve Conflict with Mediation Services

When two parties can’t resolve a dispute, we offer Mediation Services. We bring both parties together in an informal setting and work towards finding a solution. This program can save accredited businesses time, money, and the hassle of going to court to settle complaints. It’s available to all employees of the accredited business, and it’s just one of the ways BBB stays active in serving our business community.

19. Providing Arbitration Services

If phone calls and other communication channels don’t resolve the problem, we offer Arbitration Services. This is a more formal process where both parties sign binding agreements and put disputed funds in an escrow account. A trained and professional arbitrator listens to both sides of the story and then makes a final decision that both parties must abide by.

I’ve got some really useful info for you that’ll help you avoid breaking any laws. The BBB thinks it’s super important to be honest and accurate in advertising.

The BBB checks out local ads to make sure they’re telling the truth and being accurate. This way, your business can compete with others on a level playing field. If they find any false or misleading info, they’ll look into it and let everyone know.

21. Keeping Businesses in Check

A big part of what the BBB does is making sure businesses regulate themselves. It’s a lot easier and cheaper for businesses to keep themselves in line than for the government to do it.

22. The BBB’s High Standards

Did you know that BBB Accreditation is an invitation-only status? It means that not all firms are eligible to join because they have to meet the BBB Standards for business performance. The purpose of BBB Accreditation is to build and maintain the public’s trust in businesses, showing that legitimate companies care about their reputation and public relations.

When a business is BBB accredited, it means they take reviews and complaints seriously. If they receive negative feedback about their operations, they take action to address it. This shows that the business is accountable and committed to providing excellent service.

23. Community Service Programs

  • Seminars – These seminars cover important topics like identity theft, counterfeiting, and other relevant educational subjects.
  • Smarter Living – This program provides valuable information for students, seniors, and investors, helping them make smarter decisions in their lives.
  • Keep Our Communities Safe – This program ensures that the public, district attorney’s office, and Contractors State Licensing Board have important information about unlicensed contractors. We also share these names with the media to raise awareness.
  • Protect Your Privacy – Attend our Shred-it Events for a chance to have your unwanted documents professionally shredded, absolutely free. It’s important to keep your personal information safe!
  • Learn Essential Skills – We conduct special programs called Smarter Living for both high school students and senior citizens. These programs are designed to teach life skills that are valuable in everyday life.
  • Make Informed Choices – Join our educational programs, Smart Investing, which provide vital information on how to be cautious and make wise decisions when it comes to investing your money. It’s important to be smart about where you put your hard-earned cash!

These programs are just a few examples of how BBB is always working to support our local businesses and communities.

What Does BBB Accreditation Mean?

When you earn BBB business accreditation, it means that your company meets all the requirements set by the BBB and has been granted accreditation status. To achieve this, I had to complete an application form, provide all the necessary information, undergo a thorough business check, and meet the high standards set by the BBB. Additionally, accredited businesses like mine have to pay a fee and renew their accreditation annually.

After going through this process, a BBB accredited business like mine gains access to special marketing privileges and other advantages that can help us stand out.

So, is BBB Accreditation Worth It?

The BBB shield symbolizes trust and reliability, giving customers peace of mind when they choose to do business with us. Research shows that customers these days are very careful about who they purchase goods or services from. In fact, statistics reveal that 70% of the time, when customers see the BBB seal of accreditation, it significantly influences their decision to choose our business.

Does the BBB Have Any Authority?

Hey, did you ever wonder if the BBB has any power? Well, let me tell you, the BBB isn’t actually a government agency. But don’t count them out just yet! They may not have an official badge, but they do some pretty important work. You see, the BBB is always on the lookout for those sneaky schemes that unfairly compete with honest, tax-paying businesses. And when they find ’em, they don’t just sit back and do nothing. Nope, they take action!

Now, the BBB can’t just throw the book at these scammers themselves. They need some backup. So, they gather all the evidence they’ve collected and report it to the appropriate government agency or agencies. That way, the proper authorities can step in and put a stop to these shady business practices.

But just because they’re not a government agency, doesn’t mean they’re not important. Oh no! The BBB is all about supporting our business community in the US, Canada, and Mexico. They’re like the superheroes of the business world, promoting and protecting the good guys. They want to make sure that honest businesses have a fair shot and that you, the customer, can trust the businesses you deal with.
