Have you ever wondered how to read deleted Reddit comments?

By Ronald Smith

When you’re scrolling through Reddit, you might come across comments that have been deleted or removed. It’s natural to be curious about what was said, but did you know there are ways to recover most of these deleted comments using third-party tools?

Today, I’m going to show you four tools that can help you see deleted Reddit comments. Don’t worry, these tools are completely free to use and legal as well.

Before we dive in, I want to give you a heads up: Deleted comments are usually removed for a reason, often containing offensive material. So be prepared for any potentially upsetting content before you go searching for deleted comments.

Discover Subreddit Keywords: The Ultimate Keyword Tool

Hey there! Have you ever checked out Reddit? It’s a treasure trove of entertainment, news, advice, and even market research! You can find a subreddit for just about anything you’re interested in.

1. Ceddit

Now, let me introduce you to Ceddit. It’s the ultimate solution for quickly checking out deleted comments on Reddit. It’s a cool third-party website that lets you explore Reddit posts through its own awesome interface.

Here’s the best part: Ceddit automatically recovers most of the deleted comments in a thread and highlights them in a vibrant red color! It’s like finding hidden gems in a sea of conversations. However, keep in mind that it might not be able to recover certain types of deleted comments, like the ones deleted by the Reddit auto moderator.

So, if you’re simply interested in reading those deleted comments, all you have to do is browse through Ceddit, just like you would browse Reddit. Look out for posts highlighted in red – those are the ones with deleted comments that have been recovered by Ceddit.

If you want to view deleted comments on a specific post, there’s a simpler way than searching for them manually. Just open the post on Reddit, then change the URL from “reddit.com” to “ceddit.com”. This will load the page in the Ceddit interface, where you can browse and view the comments that are highlighted in red. Here’s an example of the URL change:

2. ReSavr

If you’re curious about deleted comments and want to learn from them, ReSavr is an excellent tool. With ReSavr, any comment that’s deleted but longer than 1000 characters is automatically saved.

The idea behind ReSavr is that longer comments are more likely to contain valuable information. By using ReSavr, you have the chance to discover hidden gems that you may have otherwise missed.

With ReSavr, I can extract all posts that have comments you might have missed, and I present them in a simple and easy-to-use interface. When you use ReSavr, you’ll see the post title and the number of words in the deleted comment.

What’s really cool is that when you hover your mouse over a title, you can get a sneak peek of the comment. This way, you can quickly decide which comments are worth your time and skip the rest.

I’ve tried out ReSavr and found that many of the deleted comments are actually quite informative and definitely worth reading.

3. Bring Back Deleted Reddit Comments

Hey there! Have you ever come across an interesting Reddit post that you wanted to save for later, but couldn’t find a way to do it? Well, worry no more! I’ve got just the solution for you – a handy-dandy Chrome extension!

This awesome extension allows you to cache Reddit posts so you can view them at your leisure. And the best part? You can even save all types of comments, even if they end up getting deleted later on.

Now, I should mention that this extension won’t be able to bring back already deleted comments. But don’t let that discourage you! It can still be an incredibly powerful tool if you manually cache every important discussion.

So, here’s how it works. All you need to do is open the Reddit post that you want to cache, and then simply click on the extension button. Easy peasy, right?

Once you’ve clicked on the button, the extension will display the URL of the post, along with a big, shiny “Cache” button below. Exciting stuff!

Go ahead and click on that button, and voila! The page will be cached, ready and waiting for you whenever you want to revisit it. Pretty cool, huh?

And hey, if you want to access your saved pages again later, all you gotta do is click on the extension button once more. It’s as simple as that!

The cool thing is that it can keep all kinds of comments. Unlike Ceddit, which may not be able to recover certain types of deleted comments.

4. Wayback Machine

Wayback Machine is a service that saves snapshots of websites and stores them for everyone to see. It also saves snapshots of Reddit posts, so you can go back in time and check out a comment before it was deleted.

However, I wouldn’t recommend relying solely on Wayback Machine to read deleted Reddit comments.

It requires some effort to find the specific comment you’re looking for – you have to sift through multiple snapshots of the same post.

How it works

All you have to do is input the URL of the post you want to check for deleted comments. When you go to the Wayback Machine, you’ll see a calendar with dates highlighted in blue. These dates indicate that screenshots were taken on those days.

Now, you just have to find the day when the comment was deleted and look at the screenshots. Trust me, it can be tough. But don’t worry, I’ll show you a simple process I use to search for deleted comments.

Here’s how to easily find the deleted comment:

Have you ever wondered how to read deleted Reddit comments?

  1. First, head over to Reddit and check out the comment you’re interested in. Take note of how long ago it was deleted, as this will be written next to the comment.
  2. Next, grab a calculator and a calendar. Use them to count back the number of days indicated from the current date. For example, if it says the comment was deleted 67 days ago, simply count back 67 days from today and find the specific date on that day.
  3. Once you’ve pinpointed the exact date when the comment was deleted, it’s time to visit the Wayback Machine. Navigate to that specific date in the archives.
  4. Hover your mouse cursor over the date in the Wayback Machine and you should see some screenshots with timestamps. Look for the screenshot that was taken before the comment was deleted.

When you’re trying to find a specific screenshot, there’s a simpler method to locate it. Just open the most recent screenshot from the day and search for the comment that was deleted. You’ll find the exact time the comment was deleted written next to it in hours.

Next, go to the screenshot right before that time and you’ll be able to see the deleted comment.

Have you ever wondered how to read deleted Reddit comments?

I spent nearly 15 minutes using this clever technique to find the exact deleted comment I mentioned in the Ceddit screenshot. What’s fascinating is that the Wayback Machine uncovered two additional paragraphs of that same deleted comment which the user edited afterwards.

As you can see in the screenshots, Ceddit was unable to show the edited content. That’s why I think the Wayback Machine is a superior option for reading deleted Reddit comments if you truly want to dive deeper.

Note that:

The Wayback Machine captures screenshots based on the activity of a web link. If a post is highly popular, it will have more screenshots taken (meaning there are more chances to find the exact comment).

Even if a post is not very popular, there will still be some screenshots taken during the time when people were commenting on it.

In most cases, there will always be a screenshot of a deleted comment if the comment was made when the post was created or during its peak popularity. Don’t get your hopes up if the deleted comment was made several months after the post was active.

How to Verify if a Facebook Post Has Been Edited

You can edit a Facebook post after publishing it. This can be useful for those who are forgetful. But it can also raise concerns because edited posts can alter the original content and context. If you want to know if a Facebook post has been edited, here’s what you can do:

Final Thoughts

Hey there! Need to read deleted comments on Reddit? No problem! I’ve got a couple of awesome tools that’ll have you covered in no time.

Let’s start with Ceddit – it’s the ultimate go-to if you’re looking for speediness. This tool works like a charm, so you can easily see those deleted comments. But if Ceddit doesn’t quite do the trick, don’t you worry!

The Wayback Machine is here to save the day. It’s a trusty backup that’ll help you uncover those missing comments. It’s a bit like a virtual time machine, taking you back to the Reddit comments that have disappeared into the ether.

Oh, and don’t forget about ReSavr and Un-Delete Reddit Comments. These tools can come in really handy when you know how to use them. They’ve got some neat tricks up their sleeves.

But hey, I’m curious – do you know any other tools that can help read deleted Reddit comments? Share your secrets with me in the comments section below. I’m all ears!
