4. Make it easy to find what I need: Organize your store in a way that makes sense. Clear signage and well-arranged shelves help me navigate and find what I’m looking for quickly.

5. Keep it clean and tidy: A clean and well-maintained store shows that you care about your customers. Regularly tidy up, dust, and sweep to create a pleasant shopping environment.

6. Offer personalized recommendations: Get to know me and my preferences. When you suggest products that align with my needs and interests, it makes me feel valued.

7. Create an interactive experience: Engage me with interactive displays, games, or demonstrations. Let me be a part of the experience, not just a passive observer.

8. Provide excellent customer service: Train your staff to be knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. A positive interaction with your team can make a huge difference in my shopping experience.

They also want to make sure that customers have a great time and want to come back again. To get some ideas on how to do this, I asked members of the Young Entrepreneur Council this question:

1. Try Out AR and VR

When it comes to improving your in-store experience, adding an AR/VR experience can be a really powerful way to do it. You can use these technologies to teach customers, entertain them, or show them how your product works. This way, you’ll create a memorable experience and help them make better purchasing decisions at the same time. Isn’t that cool? I think so! Blair Williams from MemberPress said it, and I totally agree with him!

2. Loyalty Programs

Have you ever heard of loyalty programs? They’re used by almost every industry out there! Depending on what you sell and how much it costs, there are different ways to do it. If you sell cheap stuff, you can offer a buy four items, get one free deal on a loyalty card. But if you sell expensive things, you might want to think about giving some cash back based on how much they spend. Chris Christoff from MonsterInsights knows all about this stuff!

3. A Navigable Layout

When you design your website, you make it better for your online visitors. So why not do the same for your physical store? Understanding what your customers want and what they look for when they come into your store can help you guide them to where they want to go and increase sales. For example, you can put the products that sell the most right at the front of the store.

4. Making It Personal

If you’ve been to Starbucks enough times, you may have noticed that the baristas remember your name and your usual order. This makes the experience special, and you can do the same thing in your store. Teach your staff to personalize their interactions with customers and remember their preferences. This will create wonderful experiences in your store.

Did you know that most people check out businesses online before visiting them? Yep, it’s true! And some even go a step further and use apps or websites to book appointments or reservations. So, it’s super important to make sure the online and offline experiences are seamless. One way to do this is by allowing folks to buy stuff online and pick it up in person. Retailtainment is when stores combine shopping with entertainment. It makes the experience more exciting for people who visit the store. For example, bookstores can invite authors to come and sign books and talk to readers. 8. Online Coupon Clipping

Using online coupons is a great way to save money when shopping online, but did you know it can work for in-store shopping too? At Bath Body Works, the employees tell customers to check their app for awesome coupons that they can use right away in the store. You know, the coffee shops I go to all have these loyalty programs where if you buy 10 drinks, you get one for free. It may not seem like a big deal, but it always puts a smile on my face when I get my drink for free. This same idea can be applied to other stores. One advantage that brick-and-mortar stores will always have over online shopping is having real people who can assist customers. Make sure your employees are friendly and helpful when they interact with customers. If you have regular customers, try to remember their names and their needs.
