How I Started My Business

It all began out of necessity and my knack for coming up with solutions to problems.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always had a way of thinking that focuses on finding solutions. Designing products is something I’m truly passionate about. This business of mine started as one of the many ideas I’ve had over the years. I felt a strong desire to share my inventions with the world.

The Huldit U-lock holder came to life because of a specific vision that stemmed from my own personal need as a cyclist. I wasn’t satisfied with the lock holders that were available in the market. I saw a real need within my cycling community, and that’s what propelled me to create this product.

The Risk I Took to Launch My Business

When I decided to invest in launching my business, it was a big leap of faith. Putting all of my life savings and profits back into the business meant putting my financial security on the line. I knew there was a real possibility of facing significant financial losses if things didn’t go as planned or if unexpected challenges popped up.

Even though I believed in my invention and knew it could help many cyclists like me, the initial launch was tough. I wasn’t sure if the business would grow and succeed. However, I took calculated risks that were in line with my long-term vision for Huldit.

A Valuable Lesson

Don’t be scared of financing for your business.

Looking back, I realize that getting a business loan right from the start would have made things a lot easier. It would have given me the money I needed to have enough stock. If I could go back in time, I would have chosen to get a loan earlier. This would have helped me meet the demand from customers and prevent losing out on thousands of potential sales. It would have also brought in a lot of revenue and given me the chance to take advantage of many opportunities that I had to say no to because I didn’t have enough stock or funds. If I had gotten a loan earlier, I wouldn’t have had to wait for my stock to be replenished and deal with periods of limited income.

Imagine $100,000 Extra Dollars

Putting more money into inventory.

I wanted to share something important with you. So, I was thinking about my business strategy, and I realized that an extra $100,000 could have a huge impact on it. You see, with that money, I could make sure to have enough inventory to meet the high demand we’re experiencing right now. This would not only benefit our existing customers but also help us resume sales on Amazon, Etsy, and Walmart.com, which are our most profitable channels.

But that’s not all! With this additional capital, I could also fulfill a distribution deal I recently finalized. Plus, it would allow me to keep a full stock for our current retail partners, which would really boost our brand presence. I think you can see how important this is for the growth and success of my business, right?

We Love Tradition

Oh, I almost forgot to mention something fun about my team! We have this tradition where we take a monthly bike ride together. It’s not only a great way to test out our products, but it also helps us relieve stress and enjoy the beauty of nature. We find it really refreshing!
