Splacer: Where Events Find Their Perfect Space

I started Splacer with a simple idea. You see, cities have so many cool spaces that are expensive to own and often go unused.

So, my friend Adi and I came up with a solution. We created an online marketplace where people who own these spaces can connect with event planners and rent them out for short periods of time.

The “Airbnb of Event Spaces”

Splacer is a relatively new company. We’ve been around for less than two years, but we’ve already grown a lot. We started in Tel Aviv, but now we have about 500 spaces in the New York area, and over 200 spaces in Los Angeles and San Francisco. And guess what? Our Miami marketplace will be opening soon on Thursday, February 16, 2017.

I want to tell you about Splacer, which is a website that’s kind of like Airbnb but for event spaces. It’s a bit different though. Instead of renting places for days or weeks like you would with Airbnb, Splacer focuses on renting spaces just for a few hours at a time.

Airbnb usually deals with residential spaces, like houses or apartments. But Splacer has a unique approach. It helps small business owners, like restaurant or bar owners, rent out their spaces during the day when they’re not using them. So, they can make some extra money to help with the cost of having an expensive place.

For example, a restaurant could rent out their space during the day and then use it for themselves at night. It’s a win-win situation. And the same goes for galleries or other businesses. They can rent out their spaces in the evenings when they’re not working.

On the other side, event organizers are always looking for cool and different spaces. They want places that are unique and no one has seen before. So, Splacer is perfect for them.

In summary, Splacer is like Airbnb but for short-term rentals of event spaces. It’s a great way for small business owners to make some extra money, and it’s also a helpful resource for event organizers looking for new and exciting places to hold their events.

When I searched the listings for New York, I found a whole mix of different places available. There were lofts, empty warehouses, art galleries, taverns, and even a geodesic dome upstate. One listing that caught my attention was a small apartment in midtown Manhattan, where Andy Warhol had his very first art gallery. It’s interesting how the stories behind these spaces can really add to their appeal.

The great thing about using a platform like Splacer is that you never know what kind of spaces you’ll find. It could be an old church or a factory that has been abandoned. The variety is really exciting because it’s not just about finding places to live or work, but also about finding unique spaces for events or projects.

The cost of leasing these spaces can also vary a lot. Some spaces can be as cheap as $40 or $50 per hour, while others can go up to $5,000 per hour. It all depends on the space itself and the type of event you’re planning.

I’ve transformed this text for you, incorporating a unique voice and simplifying the language to make it more accessible. Take a look!

So, here’s the deal: this platform is where all the action is happening! It’s like a hub for production companies or photographers who want to find just the right place to shoot their subjects. You know, like those cool exposed brick walls or a fancy Parisian-style apartment. The best part is, you can search for specific features and amenities that you’re looking for. It’s like having your own personalized search engine!

But wait, there’s more! This platform is also perfect for small business owners like you. If you want to impress your clients with a special event or a fancy meeting, this is the place to be. You can even hold exhibitions or set up a cool pop-up shop. It’s an awesome way to showcase your business!

And guess what? If you own a space, you have control over how it’s used. You can limit who can use it, like only allowing other businesses to use your space. That way, you can make sure events like weddings or baby showers are excluded if you prefer. It’s all up to you!

Let me tell you about Splacer, a fantastic platform that connects space owners with people who want to rent them. It’s super easy to use, and best of all, it’s completely free! Well, mostly. Splacer does earn a commission if someone books an event through their platform. Can’t blame them for wanting a little something in return, right?

Splacer came to life when the brilliant minds behind it, Gerstner and Biran, were teaching architecture students in Tel Aviv. They decided to have their students think about how they spent their day, and they made a surprising discovery. They noticed how much space in the city was left unused throughout the day. It got them thinking, why not make use of all that wasted space?

After opening their marketplace in Miami, Splacer has big plans to expand to other cities across America this year. Gerstner and her partners are working hard to build up their inventory of available spaces, so there will be even more options for people to choose from. Exciting stuff, right?
