By Ronald Smith

Let me tell you about PhotoRoom, a game-changing tool for online businesses like yours. It’s all about making your products look incredible with amazing images that will make them stand out from the crowd.

Imagine this: you’ve got an online store full of awesome items, but you’re having trouble grabbing people’s attention. Well, that’s where PhotoRoom comes in. It works its magic to take your product photos to the next level.

With PhotoRoom, you can transform your ordinary pictures into eye-catching masterpieces. Say goodbye to messy backgrounds or distracting elements that take away from the beauty of your products. This tool lets you easily remove the background from your photos, leaving your items front and center.

But that’s not all! PhotoRoom also lets you add cool graphics and professional templates to your images, giving them that extra oomph. It’s like having your own personal graphic designer right at your fingertips.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. How does it work? Well, it’s super simple. All you need to do is download the PhotoRoom app and start snapping pictures. The app uses clever technology to automatically detect the edges of your products and isolate them from the background. It’s like magic, I tell you!

Once you’ve removed the background, you can customize your images with different backgrounds, colors, or even add your own logos. You can truly make your products shine in a way that captures your brand’s unique style.

PhotoRoom is a game-changer for e-commerce businesses. It helps you create stunning images that will draw customers in, enhance your brand, and ultimately boost sales. So why not give it a try? Your products deserve to be in the spotlight!

Shining the Light: PhotoRoom Gives E-Commerce Companies a Boost with Incredible Pictures

I’ve got a story to share with you about how the right photos can make a big difference for businesses. You know, it’s not always easy to edit all those images by hand. But guess what? There’s a super cool tool called PhotoRoom that uses fancy machine learning to help you save time. Let’s dive into the details and learn more about the company behind it in this week’s Small Business Spotlight.

What PhotoRoom Does

PhotoRoom offers awesome AI photo editing solutions specifically designed for commerce. How cool is that?

The co-founder and CEO, Matthieu Rouif, explained to USamerica.US, Our app and API are here to assist sellers, big and small, in creating top-notch images that represent their brand in a unique way. And the best part? It’s way quicker and more affordable than other options out there. Since we launched in 2019, our app has been downloaded over 40 million times worldwide, and it’s got a fantastic rating of 4.7 stars from 750,000 reviews!

The Business’s Specialty

PhotoRoom truly excels in providing accurate and cutting-edge technology for all your editing needs. They’ve got you covered!

Let me tell you something really cool. So, I was talking to Rouif, and he said, You know, there’s no other photo-editing software out there that can be as accurate and consistent in editing images as ours, and that too in such a short amount of time!

Let’s Talk Origins

Now, Rouif used to be a Product Manager at GoPro, and he had all these app development gigs going on. But, you know what frustrated him the most? Manually removing backgrounds in Photoshop. It was a real pain! And guess what? He soon realized that he wasn’t alone in this struggle.

How It All Came Together

So, Rouif decided to take this awesome online course on machine learning. He really wanted to learn how to mix machine learning with mobile apps. And that’s when he met this genius machine learning expert named Eliot Andres. Together, they worked their magic and created PhotoRoom! How cool is that?

My Greatest Achievement

Let me tell you about my biggest win: finding the perfect business partner.

In my opinion, small businesses thrive on partnerships, and I hit the jackpot when I met Eliot Andres, my business partner.

I ventured into my first business all by myself, and I have to admit, it wasn’t the most enjoyable experience. When things were going well, there was no one to share the joy with, and when things took a turn for the worse, I felt incredibly alone.

That’s when PhotoRoom came into the picture. As I was developing the prototype, I realized that I needed a partner who could bring a different set of skills and ideas to the table. Someone who could complement my strengths and provide valuable insights, while still being able to communicate effectively with me.

Working with Eliot has been incredible. He’s a genius when it comes to visual artificial intelligence. I mean, this guy literally wrote the book on computer vision! But what really makes our partnership shine is the fact that we both bring something unique to the table. You see, I’ve spent the last ten years working in product teams, so I have a deep understanding of how to create amazing products. Eliot, on the other hand, brings his expertise in AI and a fresh, younger perspective.

Our partnership has been a game-changer for our company. We were able to lay the foundation for our company culture and product vision in no time. Together, we shipped products faster and pushed our business to new heights. It’s amazing how much we achieved together, much more than I could have done alone.

The Risk We Took

One of the biggest risks we took was building a tool that works seamlessly across different devices. It was challenging, no doubt about it. But with our combined skills and determination, we pulled it off.

So here’s the thing – we took a pretty big chance a while back. You see, we used to be all about iPhones. We poured all our energy into building PhotoRoom specifically for iPhones. But then, we had this crazy idea. We thought, Why don’t we make PhotoRoom available on all devices? Web, Android, iOS – the whole shebang! It was a risky move, I won’t lie. If it worked, it would skyrocket our growth. But if it failed, we would’ve risked losing momentum with Apple and spreading ourselves too thin, giving our competitors an edge. So yeah, it was a bold leap of faith.

But guess what? Our amazing software engineer, Florian, pulled out all the stops and built a prototype in under a month. And you know what happened? It paid off. Big time. We started seeing the benefits almost immediately.

The Lesson I Learned

Here’s the thing, my friend – find your focus. Take risks, sure. But make sure those risks align with your vision and goals. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Who knows? It just might lead you to incredible success.

I’ve learned that when we narrow down our focus, our business really takes off. Let me give you an example. When we first started, we wanted to create a product for both video and photography. But then we decided to focus solely on photography. And even further, we honed in on commerce photography. And you know what? We saw a tremendous amount of growth after that.

How I’d Spend an Extra $100,000

If I had an extra $100,000, I would make our tools more accessible to everyone. We have this incredible AI tool called Instant Backgrounds that can create stunning product images in just seconds. However, right now it’s only available to PhotoRoom Pro users because it’s quite expensive for us to generate those images. I would love to make it free for everyone, so they can experience the magic of our product. When people see what they can do with it, they will be amazed and more likely to become customers.

Unexpected Success

I’ve been amazed by how PhotoRoom, the product our team created in Paris, has gained popularity and user growth in different parts of the world. When we started, we focused on improving the product by interviewing local users in Paris. However, we soon experienced tremendous success and growth in Asia. It was a pleasant surprise to see that we were featured by Apple in Vietnam and had an article published about us in Japan, all without any paid promotion.

What fascinates me the most is how our product resonates with people from diverse cultures and contexts. The way PhotoRoom is utilized in Japan, for example, is completely different from what we initially anticipated. We have a vibrant community of Japanese collectors who use our app to share pictures of their manga action figures or Lego projects. It’s truly delightful to see how PhotoRoom has become a platform for people to express and share their passions with their communities.
