By Ronald Smith

Starting a business and finding funding can be tough, especially for minority-owned businesses. That’s why some organizations and government agencies are stepping up to help level the playing field. Mastercard and the state of New York have recently announced exciting initiatives to provide grants and support to these entrepreneurs. Let’s dive in and learn more about these wonderful opportunities for small businesses.

Introducing the Fearless Strivers Grant Contest

I have some exciting news for you. I wanted to let you know that Mastercard is teaming up with a fantastic venture capital fund called Fearless Fund. They specialize in helping businesses owned by Black women and women of color. Together, they’re launching an awesome grant program called the Fearless Strivers Grant Contest.

Now, let me break it down for you. This program is all about supporting small businesses owned by Black women. The best part? They’re giving out $20,000 grants! But that’s not all – they also want to provide these businesses with digital tools and mentorship opportunities to help them thrive.

What’s really cool is that this program is just one part of a bigger initiative by Mastercard to empower and uplift Black women in business. They’ve been working hard on this, and the grant program is the final piece of the puzzle.

Here’s the thing – the application portal for this grant program will be opening up soon! So if you’re a Black woman who owns a small business, keep an eye out for that announcement. It’s an incredible opportunity to get some much-needed support for your business.

Mastercard is Offering Grants to Help Minority-Owned Businesses Succeed

Welcome to the East Buffalo Small Business Working Capital Grant Program!

I have some exciting news to share. The state of New York is putting $3 million towards helping small businesses in East Buffalo. We understand that minority-owned businesses face unique challenges, and that’s why we’re launching the East Buffalo Small Business Working Capital Grant Program.

This program was started in response to a tragic event at a Tops Friendly Market, and it aims to break down the barriers that minority-owned businesses often encounter. We want to give them the support they need to thrive. So, we’re offering grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000! How awesome is that?

If you’re a small business owner in East Buffalo, I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. The application period is open right now, and you have until February 17th to apply. Don’t miss out on this chance to receive funding that can make a real difference for your business!

Welcome to the Kingston ARPA Small Business Grant Program!

Let me tell you about some awesome programs that are happening in different cities across the country. First off, we have Kingston, New York, which recently launched its ARPA Small Business Grant Program. This program has a whopping $1 million in funds available for small businesses. But here’s the catch: in order to qualify for these grants, businesses need to meet the federal requirements set by the American Rescue Plan Act. If you’re eligible, you can apply for up to $10,000 to help cover any extra expenses or losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is aiming to give out grants to around 100 businesses, so make sure to get your application in by March 17!

Now, let’s head over to Long Beach, California!

Guess what? They just announced a fantastic support program for small businesses. With a total of $450,000 in funding, this program is designed to lend a helping hand to local businesses. One of the initiatives included in this program is the Visual Improvement Program, worth $100,000. Basically, it’s like a mini-makeover for businesses that have experienced property damage. If your business qualifies, you can get a grant of $1,500 to spruce things up. Sounds great, right? The grant application period starts on February 22, so mark your calendars!

And last but not least, let’s take a look at Antioch!

Hey there, folks! I’ve got some exciting news to share with you. Antioch, California is teaming up with FORWARD to bring you not one, but two amazing grant programs for small businesses. And guess what? These programs are made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act. How awesome is that?

First up, we have the Small Business Grant Program. This program is designed to help out small businesses that have been hit hard by the pandemic. We’re talking about grants ranging from $5,000 all the way up to $15,000! That’s some serious help right there.

But wait, there’s more! We also have the Facade Upgrade Program. This program is all about making your business look even better. We know how important appearances are, especially when it comes to attracting customers. So, if you’re a small business owner in Antioch, you can get reimbursed for select facade improvements. We’re talking about getting back anywhere from $5,000 to $25,000. Now that’s what I call a win-win!

Now, I know what you’re thinking. How can I get in on these amazing opportunities? Well, it’s simple. All you need to do is prove that your business has suffered losses due to COVID-19. Once you do that, you’ll be well on your way to securing these incredible grants.
