Last week, I talked about six groups that are helping women and girls in the US learn about business and money so they can find jobs and start their own companies. These women are given the opportunity to start their own small businesses or expand existing ones, paving the way for a brighter future and breaking the cycle of poverty.

Today, Friendship Bridge’s program called Microcredit Plus is making a difference in the lives of over 22,000 women. To be part of this program, borrowers form groups called Trust Banks, consisting of 7 to 25 members. These groups provide a support system where members guarantee each other’s loans. It’s a wonderful way for these women to come together and help each other succeed.

Being a part of the Microcredit Plus program also means attending monthly Trust Bank meetings, where the women not only discuss their loans and business ventures but also participate in informal education sessions.
