By Ronald Smith

Did you know that the beginning of a new year is like a fresh start for small businesses? It’s a great time to grab some extra dough to help you achieve your big goals. So, if you’re looking for a little financial boost in 2024, you’re in luck! January brings a whole bunch of opportunities for small business grants. I’ve got all the juicy details right here, so keep reading!

Iron County Small Business Grant Program: A Helping Hand for Local Heroes

I’ve got some exciting news for you. Right now, Iron County, Utah is running a really cool program called the Small Business Grant program. This program is all about helping businesses in the area grow and succeed. And you know what the best part is? They’re going to give away a whopping $60,000 to businesses that meet the criteria! How awesome is that?

So, here’s how it works. The Iron County Economic Opportunity Board and the Cedar City Business Innovation Center are the ones taking charge of this program. They’re the ones making sure everything runs smoothly and that all the deserving businesses get a fair chance. If you’re interested, all you have to do is fill out a pre-application. It’s super simple. Just give them your basic information and they’ll take it from there.

Now, keep in mind that the county will be looking through all the applications to see which ones meet the criteria for financial aid. If you make it past this round, then congratulations! You’ll have the opportunity to fill out a detailed application for the grant program. But here’s the catch – you’ll need to provide a one-to-one match. In other words, for every dollar they give you, you’ll need to match it with a dollar of your own.

Oh, and don’t forget, time is ticking. The deadline for pre-applications is January 12. So make sure you get yours in before it’s too late!

Get Help with Maui Federal Disaster Loans Now!

If your business in Maui was affected by wildfires in 2023, I’ve got some good news for you. You now have more time to apply for federal disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The SBA has extended the deadline for eligible businesses to apply for funds, so you don’t need to worry about rushing your application.

Normally, there’s a 45-day window to apply for these loans after the FEMA registration period following a disaster. That means you would have had until December 11 to apply. But guess what? Thanks to the SBA’s extension, the application period is still open!

Here’s the best part: you don’t need any extra documentation or explanation to apply. It’s as simple as filling out an application. These loans can provide your business with up to $2 million, which can cover costs associated with disaster recovery or help prevent future disasters. So don’t miss out on this opportunity!

Make sure to take note of the new deadline: January 25. That’s when the application period ends, thanks to the SBA’s extension. Don’t wait until the last minute – apply now and get the help you need!

You have until March to apply, and the applications will be reviewed in April. And the best part? The program runs multiple times throughout the year, so if you miss this cycle, you’ll have more opportunities!
