Now, let me tell you a little bit about Charles Hibble, the owner of iDropped. He started out just like you, playing around with different electronic gadgets. But he turned his passion into a business, and now he’s making a living by helping people fix their devices. Impressive, isn’t it?

How I Started My Business:

Because I loved fixing electronics.

When I was a kid, I was always messing around with things. One time, when I was 10 years old, my parents’ radio stopped working. So, I decided to take it apart and see if I could fix it. After reconnecting a wire, I was amazed when I turned it on and Uptown Girl by Billy Joel started playing. It was a magical moment that made me feel proud and accomplished.

In 2010, something similar happened. Our family cat accidentally knocked my wife’s phone off the table, and the screen shattered into pieces. Memories of my childhood tinkering quickly came flooding back. But this time, I had YouTube to help me out. So, I spent about a week researching and watching tutorials. Then, I ordered a new screen and the necessary tools, and I got to work.

The repair job was quite long and challenging, but I persevered. Finally, when I pressed the power button, a white apple symbol appeared on the screen, signaling success. I can’t even describe the sense of satisfaction I felt at that moment.

Those experiences, both as a child and as an adult, fueled my passion for fixing electronics. And that’s how my business got started.

Let’s talk about the employees at iDropped:

Now, what’s the biggest risk that they took?

Well, it was expanding into new markets. You see, when the business first started out, they stuck to locations near their original store in Scranton. Everyone knew about iDropped there! But then, they decided to open up a new store in Plymouth Meeting Mall. And guess what? They didn’t have that same name recognition anymore. It was a challenge, but they took a leap of faith.

The founder, Mr. Hibble, had this to say about it:

We knew that if we could make it work in Plymouth Meeting Mall, we could be successful anywhere. It was a big risk, but we saw it as an opportunity to prove that our business model was solid and could be replicated.

So, what’s the lesson they learned from all of this?

Well, they discovered that small teams can be just as effective as large ones. It’s all about the people and the passion they bring to the table.

Back when we started our business, we quickly realized that we had more employees than we really needed. It was a valuable lesson for us. What we discovered was that if we split into smaller teams, we could actually make our business run smoother and grow faster. You see, working in smaller teams gave us a chance to be better leaders and offer top-notch service to our customers.

What I Would Do With an Extra $100,000:

If I had an extra $100,000, I would invest it in research and development. There are always ways to make things better, no matter what industry you’re in. With my team’s expertise and knowledge, I believe we could even revolutionize the repair industry. We could come up with new tools and find better ways to provide services that would completely change how repairs are done.

My Favorite Team Activity:

I absolutely love mobile gaming competitions. It’s so much fun to get together with my teammates and compete against other teams. We all bring our A-game and it gets really intense. Whether we win or not, it’s always a great time.

I’m sure you can relate to this, but I’ve noticed something intriguing among our technicians. We’ve all become quite competitive when it comes to mobile gaming. You know, those popular games like Candy Crush, Flappy Bird, and Papa Pear? Every few months, a new game takes the spotlight, and we all rush to download it and compete to get the highest score or be the first to reach 100.

This spirit of competition and camaraderie extends beyond gaming and into our daily work. It’s not uncommon for us to receive an email from our store managers with sales figures, and at the end, they’ll casually mention, Oh, by the way, I just reached level 50 during lunch.

Isn’t it amazing how something as simple as a fun mobile game can bring us together and ignite our competitive spirit? It’s moments like these that make our team truly special.
