Dave Portnoy Launches The Barstool Fund to Rescue Small Businesses Affected by COVID Shutdowns

By Ronald Smith

I have some great news to share with you. It’s about a guy named Dave Portnoy who has come up with an amazing plan to help save small businesses during these tough times of COVID shutdowns. Let me tell you all about it!

So, this guy named Dave Portnoy, who happens to be the founder of Barstool Sports, saw how much trouble small businesses were facing because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He felt really bad for them and wanted to do something to help. That’s when he came up with the brilliant idea of starting The Barstool Fund.

The purpose of The Barstool Fund is to provide financial support to small businesses that are struggling due to the shutdowns caused by the coronavirus. Dave realized that these businesses are the backbone of our communities and need our help to survive. He wanted to create a fund that could directly assist them and make sure they don’t have to close their doors for good.

Now, you might be wondering how The Barstool Fund actually works. Well, here’s the deal: Dave took a portion of the money he made from selling some of his valuable stocks and put it into the fund. But that’s not all! He also made a personal commitment to keep the fund going by donating $500,000 of his own money. Isn’t that incredible?

But Dave didn’t stop there. He knew that to make a real impact, he needed more people to join in and contribute. That’s why he started reaching out to others, asking them to donate whatever they could to The Barstool Fund. And you know what? People have been responding in a big way! The fund has already raised millions of dollars, with donations pouring in from all over the country.

What’s really amazing about The Barstool Fund is how it operates. Dave and his team personally review each application from struggling small businesses and decide who to help. They don’t just look at numbers and figures; they want to hear the stories behind these businesses. They want to understand the impact they have on their communities and the struggles they’re facing. It’s all about helping those who really need it the most.

So far, The Barstool Fund has been able to assist many small businesses with their expenses, like rent, payroll, and other crucial bills. And this is just the beginning! Dave’s goal is to keep the fund going as long as it’s needed and help as many businesses as possible along the way. He wants to ensure that these small business owners can keep their dreams alive and continue to contribute to our communities.

You know, it’s people like Dave Portnoy who restore your faith in humanity. The way he saw a problem and took action to solve it is truly inspiring. Thanks to The Barstool Fund, many small businesses that were on the verge of closing down now have hope. And it’s all because of one man’s determination to make a difference.

If you want to be a part of this incredible initiative, you can contribute to The Barstool Fund too. Every little bit helps, and together we can help save countless small businesses from the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Let’s come together and show our support!

Remember, we’re all in this together, and by supporting each other, we can overcome any challenge that comes our way. With The Barstool Fund, we have a chance to make a real difference and save the businesses that make our communities special. Let’s not miss this opportunity!

Dave Portnoy Launches The Barstool Fund to Rescue Small Businesses Affected by COVID Shutdowns

I’m here to tell you about something pretty awesome called The Barstool Fund. It’s a fund created by none other than Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports. This guy is a huge supporter of small businesses, and he’s not afraid to show it.

So here’s the deal – Dave Portnoy is using his own money to help out small businesses that have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. You see, many of these businesses have had to close down or limit their operations because of government orders. It’s been really tough for them.

During a live stream, Dave announced the creation of The Barstool Fund. He had some choice words for the elected officials in Washington DC who have failed to pass any legislation to help these struggling businesses. He doesn’t understand how they expect these businesses to survive without any support.

Supporting Small Businesses Through the COVID Pandemic

During his live video, Dave expressed his frustration, saying, How do you expect these people to survive? How are restaurants going to survive? Nobody in the government seems to care. Or at least no one is acting like they care.

I recently called out Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill DeBlasio of New York for shutting down indoor dining at restaurants in the city, which is where my company is now based.

It’s not just New York, though. Other states like Pennsylvania and California have similar restrictions in place.

I see a tough future ahead for many of these businesses, and I want to lend a hand. This cause is important to me for a few reasons.

When I started my flagship brand, BarstoolSports.com, it was just me. I know what it’s like to be a small business owner.

I also have a popular video series called One Bite (Everyone Knows the Rules) where I review pizzas. In the series, I visit different pizza places wherever I happen to be and rate them.

In addition to being the cameraman for that series, Frankie Borrelli’s father also happens to own one of the New York restaurants that have been impacted.

Let’s Talk about the Barstool Fund

Have you heard about the Barstool Fund? Well, let me tell you, it’s got a whopping $500,000 in it! This money is specifically for small businesses that need some relief. I know it may not seem like a huge amount, but it’s a start.

Now, the cool thing about the Barstool Fund is that it’s not like those other funds that were here today and gone tomorrow. No, no. Dave Portnoy, the genius behind it all, wants to make sure that the businesses who receive awards from the Barstool Fund get paid every single month until those pesky pandemic restrictions are finally lifted.

So, how does it work, you ask? Well, let me break it down for you. Once you’re selected, you’ll get a check right away to help you through January. But here’s the best part – every month after that, you’ll continue to get a check for however much you need to keep your business going strong until this whole thing is over. How amazing is that?

I’ve got some exciting news to share with you today. So, I came across this amazing initiative called the Barstool Fund. It’s actually inspired by Borrelli’s father’s restaurant. You see, even during those tough shutdown times, the elder Borrelli never stopped paying his employees. What a legend!

Now, here’s the deal. I want to make sure that businesses who have been keeping their employees on the payroll can benefit from this fund. It’s a way of giving back to those who’ve shown incredible dedication. So, as long as you meet this one requirement, you’re eligible.

Once we’ve got that covered, let me explain the rest. The rules are pretty simple: all you have to do is tell me what your business needs to keep going for the next month. I genuinely want to help you survive this pandemic. So, tell me, what can we do to ensure your business stays afloat until this whole thing blows over?

If you’re interested in applying for this fund, it’s super easy. Just send an email to [email protected]. I can’t promise to assist everyone, but I’m already thinking of ideas to raise more money when the initial fund runs out.

Oh, and by the way, if you want to learn more about the Barstool Fund, you should definitely check out my live video from Thursday. It’s packed with all the information you need.
