So, if you have multiple social media accounts for your brand, that’s awesome! But here’s the thing: you can’t just post the same stuff on every platform and expect great results. No way! To really reach more people and grow your audience, you’ve gotta make your content stand out on each account while still keeping things consistent.

But don’t worry, I’ve got some cool tips for you from 12 awesome members of the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC). They were asked an interesting question: How can you make your content unique on each social media account while still keeping everything connected?

You know, it’s really important to understand who your audience is on each social media platform. See, different platforms have different audiences, and what works well on one might not work so well on another. So, what you gotta do is research and really get to know your audience, and then tailor your content to match each platform. You can take the same information and present it in different ways on different platforms, but make sure you maintain a consistent look and feel across all of them. I have a clever plan to make our social media accounts stand out. Instead of asking our audience for engagement in the same way on every platform, we mix things up. On Twitter, we encourage our followers to use our special hashtag and tell us their thoughts. Otherwise, it’s like telling the same joke at five different parties. We need to understand that our audiences are unique on each platform and tailor our tone and perspective to resonate with them. In one of my accounts, I like to connect with people by sharing my personal experiences and being more open and honest in my writing. I share stories from my life and post pictures of myself from the past and present. I also share pictures of my loved ones and close friends. I want to chat with you about the differences in calls to action (CTAs) on different social media platforms. It’s pretty cool how the engagement level can change depending on the platform you’re using. So, let’s say you want to share polls and quizzes. Well, on Facebook, they might not have the same impact as they do on Instagram, because Instagram is where they’re mostly used. And if you want your followers to use a branded hashtag to share their thoughts, Twitter is the place to be. Each platform has its own sweet spot for CTAs, so use them where they’ll get the most attention.

7. Think about Word Count

Okay, let me drop a tip about standing out on social media. Pay attention to the word limit! It’s important to be able to convey your message in the right way on each platform. For instance, Twitter only gives you 280 characters, while Instagram lets you go up to 2,200. Oh, and here’s another thing – be aware of the platform’s tone. See, Instagram has more restrictions on what you can say in your captions and posts compared to Twitter. So keep that in mind when you’re crafting your content.

8. Creating a Unique Brand Image

First, choose a specific topic to focus on and make sure it shows up in all your content. Next, use the same tone and voice across all your different platforms. Keep your voice and tone consistent across all platforms, and use similar visuals too. But, don’t be afraid to tailor your content specifically for each platform. For example, if you’re on Twitter, share quick and snappy updates, while on your blog, you can go more in-depth with longer content. It’s all about finding the right fit!

I’ve got a handy tip for you. Using a cool design tool like Canva can make resizing your content for different social platforms a breeze. With Canva, you can create an image or a GIF with specific dimensions and then easily change it to fit perfectly on various social networks. Just make a few adjustments, and voila!
