I was talking to Kelly Jones, the owner of The Cleaning Girl, Inc., and she gave me this great advice: start by picking one section and focus on that. Then, slowly move your way around the room, going from top to bottom and left to right. Take your time in that section and really figure out what you need to keep and what you can get rid of.

It’s so easy for things to pile up over time. We all have those documents and random supplies that seem to multiply out of nowhere. And it’s tempting to hang onto them just in case. But let’s be real, how often do you actually need that paper from two years ago? Probably not very often. Picture this: a small basket or tray right there on your desk, within your line of sight. Whenever something important comes your way, you simply place it in the outbox. No need to stress about sorting it immediately. Instead, you can focus on your current tasks, knowing that the outbox will help you prioritize later.
With this simple system, you always have a visual reminder of what requires your immediate attention. You can tackle those urgent items one by one, working through them until you reach the bottom of the pile.
