The Perfect Voiceover Talent for Your Small Business: A Review of Voices.com

By Ronald Smith

Have you ever heard James Earl Jones speak? His voice is unmistakable. You probably know him best as the voice of Darth Vader in Star Wars. But whether he’s playing a different character or simply talking, his voice commands attention. It’s difficult not to stop and listen when you hear him. And that’s exactly what you want for your podcast, business jingle, or voicemail greeting. While you may not have the incredible voice of Mr. Jones, don’t worry. At Voices.com, you can find the perfect voiceover talent for your needs at an affordable price.

Have you heard of Voices.com? It’s this cool website that I discovered not long ago. They call themselves the voice marketplace and offer a really handy service. Let me tell you about my experience with it.

So, I was working on this really cool animation project. We needed someone with a great voice to narrate our short video. It was a bit of a struggle, to be honest. We spent hours and hours searching for just the right person. It was exhausting!

Then, I learned about Voices.com. This website is fantastic because they do all the searching for you. It’s perfect for someone like me, a small business owner with lots to do and a limited budget.

The Perfect Voiceover Talent for Your Small Business: A Review of Voices.com

Voices.com is a really easy service to use. You can sign up for free and look for talented people based on different categories or what you need. Whether you want someone to read an audiobook, sing a jingle, host a podcast, or record a telephone message, you can browse through the Voice.com directory or just type in some words to search. I looked up words like Friendly, Warm, Funny, and Conversational, and found lots of results each time. I tried the free account as a boss for this review.

Voices.com has a big network with over 25,000 voice actors all around the world who speak more than 100 different languages. Right now, they have more than 107,220 people using the site. The company says they create around 6,911 job opportunities every month on average.

It’s actually pretty easy, but you’re still not sure if the person you’re hiring can do the job. Luckily, Voices.com has a solution for that called SurePay Escrow. They hold your funds until you release them, but the person you’re hiring can see that you’ve deposited the payment, which gives them some peace of mind too.

  • You can go directly to the Shop the Store link (under the Hire tab) to find pricing for different types of voiceovers. For example, a simple commercial or voicemail message starts at just $99.
  • I really liked that they focus specifically on finding voice talent. There are plenty of directories and services out there for freelancers and contractors, but they have a wide variety of providers.

I really love the article directory! It has so many articles about audio, audio search engines, and all the cool things that Google is doing in the audio world. I’m a big fan of Google Voice and Goog-411 – I use them all the time and they’re amazing.

But that’s not all! There are also other types of audio recordings out there. For example, you can find recorded business presentations and voice messaging systems. There are also scripted radio spots and television commercials, as well as audiobooks, films, and documentaries. And let’s not forget about the voices of animated characters in games and other new media. There’s even narration for educational recordings like e-learning software.

Now, if I had to make a suggestion, I would have loved to see more of this kind of content. It would be great to have even more articles on audio-related topics. There’s so much to explore and learn in this field, and I’m sure many others would find it fascinating too.

Just a quick suggestion – I think it would be great if you could make the How It Works link more noticeable on the homepage. It took me a bit of searching in the help section to find it. As someone who’s new to the idea of hiring voice talent, having a clear overview (with video and text) would be really helpful and might convince me to post a project even faster. But honestly, apart from that small point, I didn’t encounter any difficulties using this site. It’s super easy to navigate and seems very well-designed.

So, who exactly is Voice.com for?

If you’re a professional and want to showcase your voiceover skills, this could be the perfect place for you. And if you’re a marketing agency or small consulting firm in need of a voice for a project, it’s definitely worth checking out, or should I say, listening to. Even if you’re a small business owner who wants to add a special touch to your customer service message or any other point of contact where your customers hear your message, Voices.com offers an affordable and direct way to find the perfect voice.
