Maine Generates $16 Million Fund for Small Business Grants

I’m sure you’ve heard that communities all across the U.S. are still trying to recover from the pandemic. But here’s some good news: many of these communities are stepping up and offering grants to help their small businesses get back on their feet. It’s really amazing to see the support that’s out there. From seafood producers in Maine to downtown businesses in St. Louis, there are grants available all over the country to support local economies.

Let me tell you about one of these grants in St. Louis – it’s called the St. Louis Small Business Grant Fund. They’re launching a program specifically to help small businesses that are still struggling from the effects of the pandemic. And get this – eligible businesses can apply for grants of $5,000! That’s some serious help right there. The program is planning to fund up to 900 businesses throughout the entire city, and they’ll be giving out grants on a first-come, first-served basis. So if you’re interested, you better get your application in as soon as possible. Oh, and one more thing – this program is actually funded through the American Rescue Plan Act, so there are some requirements you’ll need to meet. For example, you’ll need to have 25 employees or fewer, and you’ll have to show that you’ve experienced hardships because of the pandemic. Applications officially open on April 14th, so mark your calendars!

Now let me tell you about another grant program called the Duke Energy Hometown Grant Revitalization Program. This one is really cool because it’s aimed at helping local communities all across the country. The program is offering grants to support projects that will revitalize and improve the hometowns of so many people. These projects could range from renovating a park or community center to creating a new business district. It’s all about making these communities even better places to live, work, and play. So if you have some big ideas for how to improve your hometown, this grant could be a game-changer.

I wanted to share some exciting news with you. Duke Energy is doing something truly awesome to help out our local communities in North Carolina. They’ve launched a new grant initiative worth a whopping $500,000! This is actually the second round of their Hometown Grant Revitalization Program, which has already given out $1.5 million to help small businesses recover from the challenges of the pandemic.

Now, let me break it down for you. These grants are available to businesses in 20 different communities across the state. Duke Energy is partnering up with local nonprofit organizations to distribute these grants. And guess what? Your business could be eligible to receive one!

These grants can be a real game-changer. I’m talking about individual business grants ranging from $500 all the way up to $2,500. That’s some serious help for your business! But here’s the catch – you need to act fast. The deadline to submit your application is May 31st.
