Amazing New Feature: Hovering Controls Bring Samsung-Like Air Gesture to Android

Okay, let’s give it a shot:

First, customize your gestures to decide if you want them to open one app or go into carousel mode.

Gestures and Choices

With Hovering Controls, you can use 3 different gestures to activate specific apps: Hover Hold, Slide Once, and Slide Twice.

If you have a favorite app that you always open first or use the most on your device, you can set it to open with Hover Hold. Hover Hold works by hovering your palm over the screen of your device. You can launch apps or launchers with it. Slide Twice works the same way (a quick motion from left to right).

Both of these gestures only activate one app at a time.

Hey there! Did you know that with the Slide Once gesture, you can do something pretty cool? It’s called Carousel Mode, and it lets you have more than one app linked to the gesture. How awesome is that?

So, here’s how it works. Say you have 5 apps linked to the Slide Once gesture. Every time you swipe across the screen, you’ll actually be flipping through those linked apps. It’s like having a carousel of apps right at your fingertips.

But don’t worry, it’s super easy to use. When you come across the app you want, just stop swiping and boom! You’re ready to go. No more searching through your home screen or app drawer. Just a quick swipe and you’re ready to jump into any app you need.

Whether you’re multitasking like a pro or just want to switch between your favorite apps effortlessly, Carousel Mode is here to make your life easier. So go ahead and give it a try. I promise, you won’t be disappointed!

To make sure this app can hear what’s happening on your device, you’ll need to give it permission to access your notifications. To do this, go to the main page of the app and tap on ‘Allow Detect Notification’. Make sure to also check the box for ‘Hovering Controls’.

If you want to adjust how long the app waits before sensing a notification, you can do that on the Sensors Options page. Just go there and change the delay settings to increase or decrease the duration.

Lastly, you can also optimize how the app behaves: have it run automatically when you start your device, make it vibrate when it detects something, or even disable detection when your screen is off. All of these options are available in the Settings page.

Uninstalling Hovering Controls is a bit different from uninstalling other Android apps. Because of the permissions you granted the app, there is an extra step you need to take. Before you can uninstall Hovering Controls, you’ll need to deactivate the Administrative permission that you gave to the app.

To do this, tap on the menu icon or the button on your device, and choose Uninstall-Device Admin. Then, simply tap Disable Admin to complete the uninstallation process. Once you see the small message at the bottom confirming that you can uninstall the app, you’re all set.

Let’s start by uninstalling Hovering Controls, just like any other app.

What Are the Limitations?

As of now, the option to use the hover hold to jump straight to your Android home screen is not available. If you want to use this gesture, you would need to choose your current launcher (if you have one) to jump to your home screen. The developer has mentioned the possibility of adding this feature and is currently considering the best way to make it happen. You can join the discussion here.
